Francesco Zinna received his PhD in Chemistry and Material Science at the University of Pisa in 2016 under the supervision of Prof. Lorenzo Di Bari with a thesis entitled: "Circularly polarized luminescence: from spectroscopy to applications". Later, he worked as a postdoctoral research assistant at the University of Geneva (CH) in the group of Prof. Jérôme Lacour.
Since November 2018, he is a researcher/lecturer (RTD-A) in the Department of Chemistry and Industrial Chemistry of the University of Pisa.
His main scientific interests include
• Preparation of chiral organic molecules and metal complexes.
• Investigation of optical and chiroptical properties of chiral molecules or molecular systems through electronic and vibrational circular dichroism and circularly polarized luminescence.
• Development of experimental set-ups for detection of circularly polarized emission.
• Development and study of OLEDs emitting circularly polarized electroluminescence (in collaboration).
