Jeannette Jacqueline Lucejko is Associate Professor in Analytical Chemistry at the Department of Chemistry and Industrial Chemistry of the University of Pisa. She received her PhD in Chemical Sciences in 2010 from the University of Pisa. Her research activity mainly concerns the development of analytical procedures based on pyrolysis, chromatography and mass spectrometry for the study and the characterisation of lignocellulosic materials. In particular, she is interested in the identification of the type of modifications (chemical changes) occurring in waterlogged wooden artefacts, and how these processes impact on the wood conservation. Moreover, her research also concerns the study and the characterisation of organic natural substances from archaeological findings and works of art, with specific attention to vegetable oils, plant resins, natural waxes and bitumen.
