Tommaso, Lomonaco, Male, researcher at the Department of Chemistry and Industrial Chemistry of the University of Pisa. He received a PhD in Analytical Chemistry at the University of Pisa in 2015 before becoming researcher at DCCI. His research activity aims at identifying chemical markers in body fluids (breath, sweat, saliva and dried blood spot) by means of LC-MS and GC-MS with the aim to develop innovative diagnostic and patient monitoring tools. Moreover, in the last years he carried out studies in order to evaluate the impact of the collection procedures on the chemical composition of breath and saliva samples. He is currently involved in a benchmarking study (PEPPERMINT study) that aim to standardize breath sampling. He is member of the International Association of Therapeutic Drug Monitoring and Clinical Toxicology (IATDM) and International Association of Breath Research (IABR). He contributed to the activities of HEARTEN (http://www.hearten.eu/, GA No 643694) project, and he is currently involved in KARDIATOOL (http://www.kardiatool.eu/, GA No 768686) and POTION (https://potionh2020.com/, GA No 824153) projects.
