Anna Iuliano graduated in Chemistry at University of Pisa in 1989, where frequented the PhD school in Chemical Science until 1992. She joined the Department of Chemistry and Industrial Chemistry of the University of Pisa in 1992 as Researcher. She was invited by the “Ecole National Superieure de Chimie et de Physique de Bordeaux” of the University Bordeaux I in 1998 as “maitre de conference” for carrying out a research project on enantioselective biselector chiral stationary phases for enantioselective HPLC” in collaboration with Dr. G. Félix. She is currently Associate Professor of the Department of Chemistry and Industrial Chemistry of the University of Pisa.
The research interests of Anna Iuliano concern the synthesis of chiral auxiliaries and their use in chiral recognition processes. She has a documented experience in stereoselective synthesis, both asymmetric and stereocontrolled, and in the stereochemical characterization of chiral non racemic compounds.
In the last years, she has addressed her attention mainly towards the synthesis of chiral ligands derived from natural products and their use in asymmetric catalysis and organocatalysis.
