Celia Duce is Associate Professor in Physical Chemistry at the University of Pisa. She received her PhD in Biomaterials from University of Pisa, in 2005.
Her research focuses on the application of calorimetry and thermoanalytical techniques for the physicochemical characterization of biochemical systems, materials, and complex matrices such as proteinaceous and lipidic binders with pigment and additives for Cultural Heritage. Moreover she is involved in the extraction on valuable products from agricultural and industrial waste by means of MW based approaches.
In 2008, she was awarded “Alberto Lucci” of Italian Association of Calorimetry and Thermal Analysis (AICAT) and Interdivisional Group of Calorimetry and Thermal Analysis of Italian Chemical Society for young researchers in calorimetry.
In 2014, she was cited in the list of 350 leading scientists in Calorimety and Thermal Analysis: “Who is Who in Thermal Analysis and Calorimetry” Series: Hot Topics in Thermal Analysis and Calorimetry, Vol. 10, I.M. Szilágyi, G. Liptay (Eds.), Springer 2014, ISSN 1571-3105; ISBN: 978-3-319-09485-4 (978-3-319-09486-1 eBook); DOI: 10.1007/978-3-319-09486
