Lorenzo Arrico obtained his MSc degree in Chemistry at the University of Pisa (UniPi) in 2016. In the same year he enrolled in the PhD programme in Chemistry and Materials Science at the Department of Chemistry and Industrial Chemistry (UniPi), where he carried out his research under the supervision of Prof. Lorenzo Di Bari. After the PhD (2020), he worked as a post-doc fellow at the Biorobotics Institute of Sant’Anna School of Advanced Studies in the Regenerative Technology Lab led by Prof. Leonardo Ricotti. In 2022, he moved to Vienna where he worked in the R&D department of BrightComSol GmbH, a spin-off company of the University of Life Science and Natural Resources (BOKU). Since October 2023, he is a researcher/lecturer (RTDa) at the Department of Chemistry and Industrial Chemistry of the University of Pisa.
His main scientific interests are:
- Preparation of emissive organic molecules and metal complexes, their conjugation to proteins and nano-delivery systems, and their optical characterization.
- Preparation of chiral molecular systems, including organic molecules and metal complexes.
Chiroptical investigation of chiral molecular systems by means of electronic and vibrational circular dichroism and circularly polarized luminescence.
